A Screw is made of metal having helical ridge used to fasten materials by the Screw thread

Screw are often self-threading/self-tapping where the thread of screw cuts into the material together & prevent pull-out.

The materials commonly fastened by screw include Wood, Steel Metal & Plastic.

 Screw threads are designed to cut a helical groove in a softer Material as it is inserted

The most common use of screws are to hold objects together & to position objects.

Majority of Screws are tightened by clockwise rotation which is also termed as right hand thread.

Screw is a metal that takes no nut because it threads directly into the substrate

There are three steps in manufacturing a Screw.

1. Heading
2. Thread Rolling
3. Coating

 Screws are normally made from Wire. This is supplied in large coils. The Wire or rod is then cut to the proper length for the type of Screw being made & this is known as blank

 It is than cold headed. This is cold working process &thus heading produces the head of the Screw & this process of heading has a very high production rate & produces no waste material.

Prior to threading the blanks are polished.

Threads are usually produced & via Thread rolling.

Than the threads are Cleaned & Polished by applying black Oxide.
